Seeing the Unseen

Research

Our vision

Modern optical microscopy has revolutionized the way researchers study biological systems. Vibrational microscopy emerges as the new frontier of bio-optical imaging and profiling, considering its unique strength in imaging chemical bonds. Meanwhile, vibrational probes and related sample engineering are under active development, extending vibrational imaging to new territories. Our research is at the interplay of biophotonics, chemistry, bioengineering and data science, focusing on developing advanced vibrational spectroscopy and microscopy, together with novel probes and machine learning strategies, to interrogate the complexity of biological systems in a spatio-temporal manner. We are also interested in leveraging these technology advances into clinical applications.
